The Original Stephen King Classic Is Back – Now With Three All-New Featurettes! Twenty-five years after a strange release, it stays a single of a tip shockers of a ‘80s as well as maybe a many renouned Stephen King story instrumentation ever. Something is alive in a cornfields of barren Gatlin, Nebraska, as well as a town’s young kids will do anything to strengthen a horrific secret. But when a roving integrate (Peter Horton of thirtysomething as well as pre-TERMINATOR Linda Hamilton) have been taken restrained by a torpedo child cult, their conflict for presence will unleash a many unholy scapegoat of all. The day that Isaac, Malachai, He Who Walks Behind a Rows as well as millions of CoTC fans have been watchful for has eventually arrived: The strange CHILDREN OF THE CORN is back, right away in Blu-ray as well as installed with disdainful brand brand new Bonus Features.Amazon.com
The attempted murder rate is as tall as an elephant’s eye in this flabby instrumentation of Stephen King’s reduced story. While pushing by Nebraska en track to a brand brand new job, medico Burt (Peter Horton) as well as his mother Vicky (a pre-Terminator Linda Hamilton) scarcely run over a lame child who staggers from a cornfields. Seeking help, they come in a locale of Gatlin, whose under-20 residents have butchered their relatives per a direct of junior-grade holy drum Isaac (John Franklin), who preaches a word of a being called “He Who Walks Behind a Rows.” King’s strange story (from his 1978 pick up Night Shift) was a gaunt as well as heartless mélange of Southern-gothic ambience as well as E.C. Comics-style gore, that scripter Greg Goldsmith effectively neutralizes by adding a childish anecdotist (a harsh Robbie Kiger) as well as putting an upbeat turn upon a story’s dark conclusion. Fritz Kiersch’s citation is TV-movie flat, with a solitary desirous impulse (hideous eremite iconography glimpsed during a full of blood “service”) delivered as a throwaway. Aside from Horton as well as Courtney Gains (as Isaac’s small axe male Malachai), a performances have been dreadful, as well as a work of art of a Lovecraftian monster-god as a arrange of hulk gopher inspires some-more delight than terror. Amazingly, a movie spawned six sequels; Franklin (Cousin Itt in a Addams Family films) after appeared in as well as wrote 1999’s Children of a Corn 666. –Paul Gaita

The Audio is better than the Video in this stupid and dumb movie. I’m glad I will be returning it.

How can a horrible movie like this (and I saw it as a young horror fanatic) make it to blu-ray, and a classic like The Howling or (more importantly) The Exorcist not be out on blu-ray? We saw this as kids and made fun of it… it’s so bad! Bad script, dialogue, pacing of scenes, effects… you name it.
“Cujo” was a better low budget attempt. “Stand By Me” blows them all out of the water as a King cinematic adaptation from the same time period. I will say, it’s probably not as irritating as the adaptation of “Lawnmower Man” from the same book of short stories, “Night Shift” (not to be confused with the Michael Keaton Henry Winkler Shelly Long comedy).
